Heritage and creativity are inextricably linked. Heritage provides foundations, roots, and inspiration for creative activity, while creativity enables their transformation and revitalisation. Cultural heritage—both tangible and intangible—can serve as a source and an essential base for the emergence of creative thinking and innovative solutions. By combining creativity with knowledge, we create our own modern interpretations of heritage, which help strengthen identity and better understand the past and culture.

In today’s fast-moving world, it’s easy for generations to drift apart. The EYES project brings them back together through stories. As part of their Youth Heritage Investigations, young participants across five European countries are exploring their local heritage using three complementary research methods. Among these, oral history stands out for its power to connect people.

The European project EYES (Exploring Youth Stories) is taking the next steps: With the newly published “Local Heritage Guide” and the launch of the first practical unit, we are bringing young cultural heritage to life.

How can we preserve cultural heritage while preparing young people for the challenges of the 21st century? The EYES – Empower Youth, Explore Stories project, financed by Erasmus+, answers this question with an innovative approach: the creation of digital heritage tours designed by young people themselves.
